went to stake lake this evening for a few hours and it as pretty slow, caught two 14 inch fish on a black leech. the water seemed a bit murky though
Heading up to Salmon Lake with family . Any news, thank you
Anyone know how the water at jacko is looking? Still full of algae or has it cleared up?
Did you fish Jacko? I’m planing to fish it tomorrow morning.
I’m planning to go tomorrow after work. Please let me know how it is!
Fishing De Wolfe last week and was great, not over 18″ but lots.
Well I haven’t contributed here for a while, so here’s my report as of lately,
1st time out to Paska recently and I enjoyed the lake, it was fishing great and had best success w/ black micro leechs, I overheard pumpkin heads were the way to go there but not even a bite. We caught a couple in the 17″ range over 2 lbs which surprised me from what I heard about the lake, but most fish were averaging about 1lb 12-13″. Thought I’d give Stake lake a second chance since our first unsuccessful trip and fished for 4 or 5 hrs but only managed 1 very small fish probably 6″ or 8″ at most. Fished Jacko on the weekend and was not cleared up and is very slow, but still managed to catch a beautiful 3lb pennask and a good sunburn! Edith has been beyond slow. Been to Logan more than anything and has been really good fishing, especially late evening close to dark, most averaging 2-3lbs, but went back again today and the milfoil has now almost completely taken over most of the lake. Decided with the combination of strong winds, too many weeds and little time, it wasn’t worth putting the boat in. There was still of couple guys out fishing in their pontoon’s… So instead we decided to take the kid to the Walloper dock this evening as she was begging her dad to take her fishing! As usual it was non-stop action but only with 1/2 lb fish…not too sure where the larger fish went, same time last year over 1 lb was average and some in the 2lb range not uncommon, but it is still a great place to take a little one for lot’s of action or just watch the eagles and osprey fish, which is a common thing to see there and very cool to watch!
I was really hoping someone might be able to tell me how Red, Heffley, or Knouff has been, thinking about trying one of them out this weekend. Wondering what to try using or what the water and fishing has been like lately? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Great report Evan. May I ask what you were using at Walloper? Id like to take my kids up there also. My preference is flyfishing but with kids I’m flexible. Can you launch a car top boat there?
Lyle, Yes you can launch your boat there and whatever you choose to use, you shouldn’t have a problem catching, there’s so many trout in that lake, flies, spinners or w/e they are not very picky, I’ve seen fish caught on anything and everything at Walloper, once I even seen a guy catch one jigging a piece of pepperoni over the dock lol. Anything that will stand out and catch their attention, I don’t recommend bait because as I said they are very small 1/2 lb and 9/10 times they will swallow the hook.
Good Luck fishing with the kids! Hope they catch a ton!
Well been at Lodgepole lake and fishing has been good. And the creek running out is running. So the Lake below must be getting some fish. You guys must know what im useing , The dexhimmer sedge below the surface . Some good scrappers , but they are small. Some big boys too , and they can fight. I see sedges and croni are poping along side of the helgimites Lots of feed the but no murky water happening. All I can say is Happy Fishing and catch a few.
Ollie
We were up at Badger last week. The fishing was spotty with a water temp of 68. We caught a few 2lb’rs.
Thinking of heading up to Island Lake this weekend. Any reports from up there?
Fished Gump today for the first time. Watch out you don’t break your ankles carrying your boat down to the lake over the boulders! Gonna bring a tube next time! Hooked a few on bloodworm and there were some absolute behemoths cruising in the shallows. Managed to get into one of them and almost lost my rod. There was a deranged loon that attacked every fish we hooked. He instantly gobbled up anything we released and just swam around our indicators waiting for the next hook up. Crazy! Gonna try this one again for sure!
Any Caddis coming off Simon?
Yes they were coming off. Not in droves, but they were there.
going to ross lake near lake any suggestions?

fished roche for two days and had lots of strikes but only got two to the boat. fishing was very hit or miss caught both caught on a black leech. planning on going back in the fall when the fish feed a little more heavily .
just came back from ross in skagit valley, caught 8 rainbow 4 were just above 12 inches and the other four were over 16. i also caught a 2 pound brookie beautiful fish. used a size 12 red and black leech on a floating line with a long leader (20+ feet) for the brook i used a full sinker down deep. if anyone is going i can give them suggestions.
Heading up from chilliwack for the weekend. I was just wondering what my best bet would be with all the bloom happening. Roche??any reports would be appreciated. Long way to go to be sitting in a Algie bloom. Thanks in advance
roche has algie bloom but its not thick so you shouldn’t have a problem
Just saw the comment on facebook re Stoney and Minnie. Great news, fished them as a kid with my dad, always wanted to go back! I just was not going to pay DLR , for that .8)
For those of us that do not have Facebook accounts, can you expand on this? I am aware of recent events at DLR and the local uproar over trail cams, trespassing, and road access. Has something changed or happened recently?
You don’t need an fb account, just click the flyguys fb link at the very top of this page to read the post on dlr
Lyle, just google Nicola Valley Fish and Game Club vs Douglas Lake Ranch re access to Stoney and Minnie lakes. This should bring up a article from Kamloops Daily news.
