Anyone fished Badger lately? How’s it fishing?
Went to Campbell yesterday, got around twenty, nothing big, all in the 10″-16″ range.
Not sure if their is any size in Campbell anymore or not??

    • admin says:

Hey Mark the only report I have for Badger is from April 22 and it was slow. I would think by now though it should have cleaned up and be fishing better. Hoping someone else will chime in as I am curious as well.

    • Neil says:

a coworker was at badger yesterday and tells me it was non stop action

      • MARK says:

sounds good, planning on camping there Wed-Sat. this week, will let u know how I did. thanks guys

        • MARK says:

fished badger for 3 days had well over 80 fish, but biggest was only 3lbs. a bit strange for badger, action was unbelievable though!

  2. Peg says:

I took my grandkids out today to the public dock at Walloper lake for a nice day of family fishing, we were driven out by a couple Flyfisher’s who decided to come fish right beside the kids whipping their hooks carelessly back and forth all around us nearly hooking my grandchildren. Very disappointing indeed!

    • admin says:

Walloper is a great lake to get kids hooked on fishing! Too bad about being crowded by what sounds like two very inconsiderate anglers. πŸ™

  3. The Force says:

Fished Jacko Thursday evening and this afternoon. Saw a pile of fish, cruising and lots feeding on surface but couldn’t manage to figure out what they were feeding on. Tried a bunch of different chironmids, leaches, dryflies even with no luck- only managed one about 16″ on a gunmetal grey chironmid. There were lots of chironmid cases on the surface but couldn’t make it work. Any tips? Is there an emergent that a guy could be using or any idea on colors? Wife had a couple strikes on a panther martin, though nothing into the boat for her.
    Weather was absolutely perfect today!

  4. Evan says:

Slow fishing at Logan, we threw just about everything at them. They seemed to be very picky and with lot’s of fish cruising really close to the shoreline. I believe they were spawning…Pink Chiro’s size 12 seemed to be the best choice.
Holly got herself a nice one! πŸ™‚

Community lake is ice off! πŸ™‚

  6. Mark Y says:

Drove by Courtney on sunday on the way home from a hockey tournament in Kelowna.
Only say one boat on the lake around 5:00pm on a beautiful day – what gives? No one was on Corbett. I am heading up to the area on Thurs. Trying to decide between Courtney, Kane, or Lundbolm/Marquart.

    • Mark Y says:

      Stump/ Courtney fishing report.
      Stump:
swarms of tiny chironomids and hundreds of migrating damsels
one fish for 3hrs fishing, only saw one fish jump, no cruisers
surface tem 63 degrees, air temp – HOT
As this was our first time at Stump, no one else on the lake, and time ticking for our day trip, we decided to pack up and head to Courtney.
      Courtney:
      good sized chironomid hatch
surface temp up to 67 degrees -HOTTER
      9 fish(3 of them from 3 – 5 lbs)
We arrived around 12:30 and saw a few boats fishing at the far end so we made our way there only to see everyone into fish. We set up in the middle of them giving them plenty of space and set out to try and catch a few. Frustrating as guys were catching around us and we were still trying to dial it in. We were fishing in 21ft and it turns out fish were anywhere from 18 – 15ft. We knew this might be the case as we had a little prep from a friend that fishes there often yet it still took a while and a move for us to finally hook up. We caught 9 total (3 guys)for the rest of the day.
Fish were caught on flash back/antistatic bag pheasant tails (there was a small mayfly hatch), chironomids, and marabou muddler minnows (shinners were boiling around us).

For such great conditions early on it was a little dissapointing. Some veterens at Courtney said the lake surface temps went from high 50’s (they slayed them) to high 60’s in a couple days so maybe the fish were in a bit of shock? Still a great day to be on the water.

  7. Mark Y says:

    Another question
anyone know if Murray lake is ice free yet
and (if it is ice free) is it accessible from juliet bridge exit yet (usually not this early but just wondering if anyone has attempted it yet).
Has anyone tried to get in from Clearwater exit yet?
    thnks
    Mark

    • Dawn says:

Mark, I will ask my friend whose parents have a cabin there. I’m sure she’ll know..will report back later.

      • Mark Y says:

        thnks Dawn
Murray is our back up lake for small guys on the way back to Vancouver

        • Dawn says:

          Here’s what my friend said….

Hi called my folks.. From Kingsvale (north of lake should be ok was snow there a week ago) coming from the south there are downed trees along the lake so they should be able to access the north end and it is called cold water rd, my dad says Clearwater is up by Kamloops. I hope this helps them out …
The cabin owners need to clear dead fall from the south

  8. AJ says:

Fished Scuitto on the weekend. Landed 2 dozen fish on a black chironomid with red rib. The guy anchored beside me must have landed 50 while I was there. Never seen soo many quad/dirt bikers! throat sample was full of small olive green chironomids. I wAs fishing in behind the large island right up against some snags.

    • MARK says:

What kind of size were you getting AJ??
      thanx

      • AJ says:

Mark. Mostly about 14 to 15 inches. Biggest was 23 with some in the 20’s . Guy beside me landed a few in the 4 plus pound range.

  9. John says:

  10. Stephen Smirlies says:

    Any reports on Roche turnover?

    • Stephen Smirlies says:

      Anybody?

    • admin says:

I fished Roche on May 6th … it was murky but we caught fish. I spoke with the owners of the resort yesterday and they report that it has cleaned up nicely and people are catching fish. From my experience Roche will fish just fine from here on out … I will be fishing it next week and will start posting reports πŸ™‚

    • Troutboi says:

Hey, thanks for the info on Roche. We are heading up there this weekend and will post a report on Monday, hopefully with some pics of nice fish.

  11. Darryl says:

Fished Morgan today and it fished well in the morning and then again from about 3 to 4:30. Fish were sitting deep ( suspended 15 to 20 feet in 25 to 30 feet of water). Sinking lines a must. Did best on brown as well as green leech patterns in the deep water entering bay areas (near island and bay on the west end). Other guys were hitting them on red / black leeches and dragons. Largest I got was 3 lbs, another guy, who seems to always be there, got one that must have been around 4 to 4.5 lbs . I know that the fish in Morgan are not always the best fighters, but this year they are. Leaps, mega head shakes. Lots of fun.

    • Darryl says:

Oh and water surface temp at Morgan was 65 F in the morning and 68 F at 4:30. Eight days ago it was 54 F. Had to go down 15 ft before hitting 55 F

  12. Troutboi says:

Fished Roche on 11th and 12th. Got a couple of small ones before we got blown off. Howled wind all Sunday, didn’t fish. Good news is the water was 53-58 degrees and excellent visibility. Good hatches. Bit of a zoo though,I expect its only going to get worse. Have fun!

  13. Weekend Warrior says:

    Hey Guys,

Has anyone tried or had luck at Tunkwa this year?

    • Dawn says:

Umm….yeah…..about Tunkwa….. We were there at ice-off, April 19, 20 and 21st. Lots of pople fishing, no one doing much catching. Got three inches of snow on the Saturday! One guy we talked to, however was SLAYING the small ones with chronies in the weed bed against the bluff. We got three 12″ fish on Sunday morning. I’m sure it’s gotten much better by now, though. πŸ™‚

    • admin says:

Their reports page says they are starting to do well (fish to 5 lbs) on chronies. Also says that bombers are starting to make an appearance. May experience fishing Tunkwa says be sure to have some funky looking chronie patterns … bright greens, reds, orange, etc. Good luck WW!

  14. Jake Enns says:

Does anyone fish Rey Lk. above Mammit ? Is it 2 wd., sm. boat accessible ?

    Great comments, folks!
