  1. Any word on Bleeker this year? The regs say WARNING! Dangerous thin ice due to aeration! Does that mean it can’t be winter killed?

    • Avatar photo BCFlyguys says:

Na, unfortunately it still kills even with the aerator. O2 samples this year indicated a kill but, as always, we won’t know the extent until we get some fishing reports.

    • Art Vandelay says:

Bleeker, even with an aerator, is still a winterkill candidate almost every year.  I would suspect that there are some fish in there after such a mild winter as is usually the case.  It’s also an ugly bugger of a lake…almost as ugly as Scuitto.

  2. Stillwaters says:

Anyone know anything about Big OK?  It would normally still be frozen, but who knows with this early ice-off…

  3. FishinKid says:

Anyone fish Lundbom or Marquart Lakes recently? And any news on Gardom out by Enderby?

  4. Dawn says:

onthedry27 – Thank you so much for the info on Harmon.  Still sort of new to chronies, but that’s exactly the one I tried.  lol  No place to reply under your last post.  Think we might go give it another kick at the can this weekend, as this may be our last chance for awhile.  Weather’s supposed to be nice.  Praying the lake won’t be in turnover.  Will have to try the infamous zucchini and little green Limey as well.  Many more thanks to my flyguys friend for the encouragement to try something new and supplying me with all those delicious looking chironomids!!!  tongue-out” />

    • onthedry27 says:

good luck to you it was probably just a timing or weather thing that left you skunked there last time im sure you will have better luck this weekend and the weather forecast is on your side. I wouldn’t expect to see the lake in turnover.

  5. Dragon Fly says:

Fished Morgan on Tues.  No one else there or at Six Mile.  Cold and windy but fishing was good.  Green and Maroon micro leeches didn’t work but egg but #10 egg sucking leech was productive.  Released 8 and had 6 other hits.  Averaged about 1 1/2 lbs. with the biggest about 2 1/2 lbs.  Anyone have any idea why the fish there don’t get to the size they used to?

    • Art Vandelay says:

I landed a fish there this spring that was 4 lbs so there are still a few decent fish in there.  You have to remember that a few years ago you were catching fish at Morgan that were stocked into the lake when it was barren of fish.  Now that fish have been stocked into the lake for 10 years or so, things are starting to normalize.

      • Dragon Fly says:

Thanks Art.  Several years ago I was talking to 2 guys from F&W who were doing a sampling of the population and they mentioned that there was some concern that maybe the lake was getting too alkaline and that maybe they would switch over to Brookies.  Never heard any more so can only assume that all was OK.

  6. Tight Ladies n' Lines says:

Hey there! New to the forum. So im interested in going to Courtney lake or one of the lakes near it. Any word on ice off situation at this elevation? Any tips on how to fish this lake would also be appreciated! On a side note, not wanting to stir up a can of worms, seeing as this is a flyfishing forum ” alt=”wink” />, but is Corbett Lake private or not? I understand there is a lodge there and they own the surrounding land but is there a legal way to still fish it? I know its been a bit of an ongoing dispute these days. Thanks in advance!

    • FishinKid says:

Heading out to Marquart Saturday… Heard it has been fishing good and has turned.

    • Don says:

Hi Tight Ladies n’ Lines ,  Corbett is private! It costs dollars per rod to fish. Thats the down side. On the up side there are 15 to 20 lb trout stocked in it. i have never went in but there was a SFOTH or BC outdoors show on it a couple of years ago. Hope this helps

    • Mike says:

Ice is off of Courtney lake.  I tried to fish it on the 15th.  Arrived at about 8:00, got blown off the lake and left about 10:00.  Took a drive into Buck and Vinson on the way home but both were still frozen.  Would like to try Courtney again, heard there’s some lunkers in there!

Gardom is still turning and murky …give it a week

  11. lando says:

Anyone know if the lake between Marquart and Lundbom is stocked or contains fish at all?

  12. Karsten Priebe says:

First time poster.  Anyone gone up Christian Valley?  Lassie, Cup, Copperkettle, or Taurus Lakes?  Ice off or turned yet?

  13. lando says:

Any news on which Merritt Lakes are fishing well?

  14. Lance39 says:

Hey guys, heading to Glimpse lake at the beginning of may. Does anyone know when the ice came off and if turnover has happened or soon to happen? Also any insight is appreciated!

Hey all, I have received a few emails stating that commenting has not been working for a while. I think I have it narrowed down and have put some temp measures in place to bypass the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience. For those that have been waiting to post please do so now. If you encounter any issues please email [email protected] so I can continue to try and determine, and fix, the problem.

    Thank you ……. Rob
