  1. Hey guys, love the site, I dont post often but I read every post and have learned alot on here so I really appreciate it. I fished Edith a week ago Wed the 6th and caught a couple on dragon fly nymphs at the south end. Was only there for an hour or maybe a little more before dark. This week when I went to go fishing again I cant find my vest and I fear I may have left it on top of the vehicle and it never made it home. If anyone has seen it its black with a couple fly boxes in it and a set of forceps on a rewind attached to the front. I think it has “Mr F” or something printed on the back. I’d really like to have it all back so I was thinking if anyone found it I’d be happy to let them choose 1 of each fly out of my boxes that they would like to keep. Alternately they can keep the whole thing but that is not my first choice.

Anyone out there know how Jackos been fishing lately?. I’m thinking of heading out that way this weekend

  3. wayne says:

I just arrived back from fishing dragon lake the last couple of days for the first time in 25 years. It was heart breaking to see it over run with gold fish. So far it doesn’t seem to have affected the fishing other than the large fish that were common back in the day aren’t so common any more. Dragon could end up looking like white lake is now.

Anyone been into Murray lake yet?
Would also love to hear how Courtney is doing.
Heading up that way on sunday

  5. Don says:

We fished Tunkwa yesterday as well.. Slow but a few fish off and on… Pumped fish showed the buffet is building momentum quickly.. Small 18 ‘ in black, chrome, and green Chronies plus green blood worms in 18.. small hatch on as well that even had some bird activity… Heat speel will get it rolling!

    Sunday Report
Sunny with a side of suck – beautiful day at Courtney, 20 boats, but only a few caught (that I saw). Boats were spread out over the entire lake so it was hard to see but there was lots of movements and very few congregations which indicates that nothing much was happening. We got into a small hatch on the south east end of the lake and saw a few fish moving about but only one to the boat on a size 14 black with gunmetal rib. A throat sample was promising with about 15 live chromies with black rib but the hatch didn’t last long and we were looking to make a move to another lake which meant we had to leave right away to make it worth our while (it was around 1:30). Tried to go to our back up lake – Murray- on the way home but the road was still impassable with snow so we tucked our tails and made for home.
But what a beautiful day. It feels like another week of this weather and Courtney should improve. Should have went to Jacko or Stump like Rob suggested ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • wayne says:

Jacko and stump weren’t much better this weekend. Small fish or boots. But 6 mile was on fire and few people.
      May days!!

Wondered if anyone could tell me if pass is ice off or fishable yet? thinking of going tomorrow

  9. Kevin Ayers says:

Tried to get to Gwen lake on the weekend however there was a grader blocking one road and snow on the other. Off to lundbom , which was very slow.

Any reports on the surface temp of Roche and water clarity?

    • wayne says:

I fished Roche today. Water is still dirty fishing was ok. Not sure about water temp my sounder is busted .

  10. Former Kamloops Flyfisherman says:

Everybody probably already knows this from the webcam, but Sheridan Lake was ice off a couple of days ago (16th). Sorry, I haven’t gotten out to try it in the shallows yet. If and when I do, I will let you know.

  11. wayne says:

Fished stump this afternoon. Pulling gang troll for Kokanee. Managed our limits but it took a few hours.

    • Benny S says:

      Hi Wayne,

I was wondering if you were willing to share some info on the kokanee at Stump? Was there a certain area of the lake that seemed to produce? Were you over a certain depth? Any particular bait that was working? I was there today trying both gang trolls and downrigging dodger & hoochies and couldn’t muster any kokanee. When I started getting close to shore (<20') I'd get smallish rainbows but no kokanee.

      Thanks!
      Ben

  12. coho chaser says:

Hey guys and gals, checked the lac le juene web cam today and it looks like half the lake is ice free. With the Stake lake cam it also appears that stake is partially ice free or close too. Some of the other high elevation lakes should be clearing soon. Being from the island (originally from the loops) I start to look at the interior web cams and this web site on a daily basis and give my wife daily updates. Today she told me that I have an addiction and I should go for help! There is no cure for fly fishing or the chironimid addiction that I have! This web site and the posts on it are awesome, please keep them coming. When I check the site and there are no updates I get depressed.

    Cheers

  13. Darryl says:

    Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone knows if Red is turning over and if so when it may have started? Would like to get up there next week…just planning on which days. I will provide a full report when I get back.

    Cheers,

    Darryl

    • Jesse says:

I haven’t been up there myself but I heard from a buddy it was still turning on Tuesday. Not sure when it started though.

      • Darryl says:

        Jesse,
Thank you for your reply. My hope is that turnover will be done sometime mid-week next week. I will try to fish it Wednesday and let people know how the water is looking.

        Cheers,

        Darryl

Anyone have a report or tips for Gardom Lake?

  15. Avatar photo BCFlyguys says:

Roche fished good for a couple hours last night. Leeches under indicators in the shallows. About 50/50 Pennasks vs FVs … and man are those penasks spunky! Fun night! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • analfin says:

Amazing that it is 50/50 considering the numbers that are stocked. The FV must really be aggressive in there feeding habits.

    • Jesse says:

Went to Roche today and did well fishing leeches in the shallows. Only one FV in the bunch. Water is still murky but doesn’t seem to be bothering the fish to much.
