Orange Brandy Moose Kabobs Recipe
– Venison Skewers –

There’s no words for this one … you simply have to taste it to believe it!

Orange Brandy Moose Kabobs | Ingredients:

[embedit snippet=”gas-336×280-ti”]
  • 2 lbs Moose or Deer cut into cubes – I used some steaks
  • Cold Water
  • 1 Tbsp Sea Salt
  • Red Wine
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • ½ C Brown Sugar
  • Cold Water
  • 200 ml Orange Juice
  • 3 oz Orange Brandy
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • ½ C Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Soya Sauce

Orange Brandy Moose Kabobs | Directions:

Cut meat into cubes.  Soak meat in cold water and salt for approx. 1 hour.  Drain and rinse meat with fresh cold water.

Marinate meat in red wine, olive oil, brown sugar.  Top up marinade with cold water to completely cover meat.  Leave in fridge overnight.

Drain meat.  Mix together orange juice, brandy, olive oil, brown sugar and soya sauce.  Pour over meat.  Let meat soak in juice mix for approx. 2 hours.

Put meat on skewers.  I use metal skewers.  If you use bamboo skewers, remember to pre-soak them.  Cook on pre-heated BBQ.  Baste with left over orange juice mixture when you first put the meat on the BBQ.  Do not use the juice marinade again, it had the raw meat in it.

Cook on BBQ over medium heat until meat is rare – medium.  Do not over cook the meat.  On my BBQ it is approx. 15 min on medium heat.  Turn skewers a few time while cooking to brown on all sides.

Enjoy ………. Susan
