September 29, 2010:
OK everyone it’s officially fall fishing time in the BC Interior and our buddy Jerry has started things off for us with this absolutely gorgeous eight pound ten ounce Kamloops Rainbow trout!
Not much of a story here yet but I’m still trying to coax it out of Jerry so stay tuned as I’ll be updating this post as the information becomes available. 😉
For now, however, what we can tell you is “IT”S TIME!” so get of the couch and get out there on the water because fall is famous for big fish in the BC Interior lakes! From now till ice on the bows will be actively searching for food and fattening up for their ice covered winter. This is when the big boys get reckless and therefore the perfect time to be out on the hunt for them!
This is the time of year where the staples really shine! We’re talking blood worms (Chironomid larvae), leeches, shrimp, dragons, damsels, and, if your lucky, on a frosty morning perhaps an infamous boatman hatch! There’s even a chance of some chironomid pupa action so don’t forget a few of those patterns in a variety of sizes and colours!
Great job Jerry and thanks for sharing!
