Peterhope open as of yesterday (thanks Karl!) ๐
Anyone know if red lake is iced off? Or close?
About half off as of yesterday …
Took a drive yesterday April 30th up to Jacko to see how busy it was, we counted 40 trucks parked. Wondering if the lake has started to turn yet? or has already.
I go fishing to relax and enjoy time with my son or a friend. I never go by myself. I go about 35 times a year and the peace and tranquility recharges me. Fishing a big pond (That’s what jacko is) with someone in casting distance is not for me .
I actually don’t want a 50 fish day either. Fishing becomes boring for me when you catch every cast ( after about a dozen caught)
I love the challenge of finding the big trout. Perfect day for me is 4 to 6 hours of fishing and about 15 to 20 fish caught with one being over 5lb.
Just my two cents worth
Lac le Jeune iced off today
Thanks … SS updated & here’s some pics ๐

Not on spreadsheet but
Puntzi lake iced off 3 days ago
Sheridan is close with shore open in spots
Stake iced off yesterday
Thank you ๐
So can you use the boat launch at red even with the outhouse there?
Hi Guys & Gals,
Anyone know if the ice has come off Roche Lake?
Thanks,
Steve #41
Roche is ice free. They stocked it on the 30th.
Do you have a date on which Roche was completely iced off? When is it likely to turn over, or has it already? A friend and I were thinking about coming that way from Vancouver early next week (11th-12th).
Any suggestions would be very appreciated! Thanks.
George
Also, is Roche accessible right now?
Roche is in a park, which means not accessible ๐
Hi folks,
Any word on Gillis lake or any of the Kane valley lakes?
Trev
Kane valley lakes iced off a few days back. I find I do better there when water warms up
Not sure about gillis. The road in there is treacherous with mud this time of year. Almost got stuck last year.
Thanks for the update
Any reports of winter kill? I.e. Englishman, Frisken?
Are there any lakes within about 3 hours of Vancouver that should finish icing off at the end of this week (around the 8th-9th May)? Or those that don’t experience turnover?
My buddy and I plan to head up early next week. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Does anyone know if they are allowing camping at Peter hope? Thx
Don’t think so …

Well I better stay in town and undoubtedly take many non essential outings to areas where there are thousands of other ppl doing the same thing, rather than go to the Bush where the next person is hundreds of feet away.
Wow the education system needs a overhaul in the lower mainland
Hey shed-hunter! Doing grade 6 twice doesnโt mean youโve graduated high school! So โyouโreโ not one to talk!
Dragon lake ice free. Buddy fished there yesterday and caught a couple. Iced off May 1st according to him.
Anyone know if you can get to the Roche lake turn off with the road closure on the 5A? Looking to head up there this weekend.
