April 21, 2010:
Fished Paul lake today and yesterday and had some not bad fly fishing till about 10:30 AM when the wind came up creating white caps on the water! Surface temperature today was 43 – 44 F.
.
Over the 2 days we were once again succesfull with big leeches in both brown and green. Al had his best results fishing a black leech under a strike indicator. In total we were into over 25 fish with the biggest about 18 inches long – not too shaby considering the weather.

i am just wondering where the best place to fish is on Paul lake. We have been having luck in the weedy area in between the provincal park; to the end by the creek. The fish we were catching where on the small side, so iam wondering where the big guys are?
We have had good luck for big guys on the west end of the lake near the condos in about 15 feet of water. Keep in mind that was a few weeks ago and things change so look for the bugs and focus in that area trying different depths till you start getting into fish. Once you find fish, if they are small move! I know it’s hard to move when you are catching fish but if you are not getting the size you want then better to go looking for the biguns!
Hope that helps …….JFM
