Has anyone seen or heard of any oxygen level reports for our region 3 lakes? Hopefully we get a good run of warm days and some wind for the next few weeks!! Thanks.
All reports seem favourable . Bleaker , pass, red, six mile are all good. Apparently Roche will make it this year. I’ve been ice fishing a brookie lake that kills on a regular basis and it is doing fine as well. Bodes well for ice of.
Thanks Wayne. Usually there is a thorough list of lakes and the oxygen testing results released to the public. Did you get these lakes from a list that has been released? I think people would love to see the results for this region’s testing results if that information is available. Thanks again for the reply.
I just know a guy who knows a guy as far as the O2 readings go. No clue about about any other lakes.
Just got back from six mile and Morgan. Both are making good progress now with the wind. A bit slower than last year but will be fish able to a certain extent by next weekend
Thanks Wayne!!
Us LML folks thank you boys up on the front lines for all the updates and photos that keep our spirits alive! Looking at last years notes pulled from this site I see that Six Mile iced off March 6th in 2015. Could we only be one week behind last year? Keep us posted and pictures are an added bonus!
Gary!
I actually think that 6 Mile was fishable on February 28 last year and Morgan was full ice-off on March 6.
Hi Fly Guys –
It seems to me that I was getting updates to this forum automatically via email. It appears not to be happening this year. I have tried everything I can think of – but I have had no success. No follow-up comments or new posts. Any suggestions?
Tom
OK _ I just received an email saying “Successfully updated your subscription!”
If things don’t work I will get back to you.
Tom
Keep me posted Tom.
All Right ! ! !
Just received the last two posts – – Thank you very much.
Tom
Just got back from White, lot’s of rain and couldn’t use my fingers by the time I left. The very small bay at the far end when you first drive in is still iced up and had to break up a little bit of ice to get out of the launch, but she’s well over 90% all iced off. Had the entire lake to myself. Didn’t do very well at all, But it sure was nice to feel that tug out on the boat once again! : ) Cheers
Thanks for confirming the rumor Evan! I hope to give it a go next weekend.
No worries, maybe I’ll see you out there!
With white thawed and six mile and Morgan starting. When do you predict stump will be open?
Stump should be off by mid March considering that six mile and Morgan are bang on with last year almost to the day. Which means pass should be off mid April as well.
If memory serves me right, Stump actually iced off before Six Mile and Morgan last year. Very rare for that to happen.
Does anybody know if peterhope is fishable yet ? Thanks guys
No chance in hell. If it were fishable 3 weeks from now that would be an extremely early ice-off.
Thanks Art
Hi Folks, Question: Does anyone know if and when the kamloops boat show will be??
Pretty sure I heard March 27 โ 29, 2015
Thanks!
Went for a little ride to Niskonlith Lake to see how the ice-off is coming along. looks good so far!
Anyone out there know when Courtney was iced off last year
I don’t know about last year but I heard that it has some open water now. This is a third hand information however so please don’t run out there on this report alone. Hoping someone that can verify will jump in …
Courtney iced if march 25 last year. Have a hard time thinking there is open water there as i ice fished a lake close to there last week with 14 inches of ice.
Thanks trouthunta I will be driving by Courtney next week and will stop for a look as well as a few other lakes in the area
Thanks coastlogger, Looking forward to your report!
Six Mile was fishing OK today. We fished off shore and the wind rarley let us get in, and stay in, the zone but we did manage 6 over a couple hours. Guys in boats that adjusted for the wind seemed to be getting them regularly. Other than the wind the weather was beautiful! Nice way to spend a couple hours! ๐
Hi All –
I have been keeping a chart of the full ice-off dates for a number of the local lakes.
I would appreciate you all noting these dates on this site so I can enter the dates for 2016. Any official (or unofficial) dates for Six Mile and Morgan? Or any others?
Tom
Six Mile and Morgan are ice off … we fished them today ๐ Six Mile came off first (I think it was Wednesday march 2) and Morgan yesterday (March 4)
Will post dates as we get them and encourage others to do so as well.
Hey BCFlyguys – Thank you very very much
Tom
For those that missed it on the FB page ……. Roche lake O2 sampling was good! Beef up your tippets boys & girls! ๐
Tried ice fishing a lake i did last monday and couldn’t get onto the lake today, crazy what 5 days can do to a lake, drove up to courtney lake soft around the edges for sure, i think it could be close to last year , possibly few days earlier. Had to end up going up kane valley way to find some ice to fish. Its coming starting to get pumped.
Went up to check Niskonlith Lake again today and it was completely ice free.
๐
From Niskonlith I headed to Phillips Lake, it is very close to ice off there. Shouldn’t be more than a few days…
