would love to hear an update on morgan or six mile or even stump
thinking of heading up on fri (from Richmond)
these reports are invaluable to people such as myself
thnks for all the updates so far

  2. Ed N says:

I was down at Stump at mid-day Thursday. The north end is getting ice-free with open water along the shore varying from 20 feet to 50 feet wide. The southern 3/4’s of the lake is still covered with ice with open water only around 10 to 20 feet wide. The southern end is ice to the shore although it is probably only quite thin.

  3. Fishpimp says:

Morgan is dirty and slow. Six mile is fair but is starting to turn over full of weedatts. Stump is your best bet.

Hiked to deep lake today it’s 25% open I wouldn’t say go there quite yet had a few nibbles on a micro leech and some started to surface as the sun started to go down

  5. Nicole says:

Anyone have any recomendations for some good fishing around Sun Peaks or North-East Kamloops?
I normally fish near Nicola and Stump but Ill be driving some family to Sun Peaks for the weekend and wanted ot try my luck either ice fishing or shore fishing while everyone else is at the mountain.

    • ollie says:

you might try big heffley lk. If it still has Ice on it. If its all ice at the forestry campground theres a beach if you go out to the island is a good spot to ice fish. But its spring time so I would be concerned of weak spots in the ice. But it should be OK .

  6. AJ says:

Just drove out to Gardom lake near Salmon Arm. Lots of ice still on the lake, I was surprised. Big rocks wouldn’t even break through. Probably at least a couple of weeks until ice off. Guess I have to try White Lake.

  7. fishguy2013 says:

fished six mile today and was insanely gross, no action to be had or seen anywhere, turned over, full of weeds, save yourself the time

  8. Kelly says:

At Stump today. It’s about 30% ice off overall. North end is best but still ice cutting off shoreline from boat launch. Ice about 3/4″ thick. Probably 5-7 more days

  9. Buster k says:

Stump is 20% ice off. North end is fishable from private launches but there is an ice band probably 150 feet of ice that is 2-3 inches thick. Pushed the boat through the ice but didnt feel like scraping my hull so couldn’t make it from the launch to the good stuff. The south end is frozen and mid launch looks like 3-5 inches of ice. Give it a few days for the north launch and a 3-10 days for mid launch and south I would think if it stays warm. And that’s the stump report.

  10. Tom says:

So sorry admin, but I don’t know if I am registered or not? Or if I need to be or not?
    This is a great site!

  11. Fishguy84 says:

Went to six mile today and the fishing was completely gross, save your time and keep the lines dry until something decent ices off

  12. Mitch says:

Monte Lake has 30′ of open water, more around the launch near the mill

  13. Darryl says:

Ice Off simulator has Stump coming off completely on Tuesday April 2nd. This is earlier than most people’s predictions based on what they have seen over the last two days, especially with the south end still frozen. With very warm weather over the next few days I wondering if it really speed things up like the simulator is predicting. If anyone is out there later Monday or Tuesday please let us know how the ice is doing. I may have to adjust it so we get better predictions in the following years. It simulated ice off for 6 Mile and Morgan very well, but Stump is so tricky because of its size, wind, etc. Still who knows maybe all that ice will melt in three days, especially when we are getting highs of 23 degrees tomorrow in Kamloops.

    Cheers,

    Darryl

    • Buster k says:

Stump north free of ice. I’d say that south should be open by the mid week for sure. Lots of ice left today. 7 fish caught. Biggest 5 lbs

      • Darryl says:

7 fish with a 5 pounder. Sweet. Glad to hear it is fishing well. Thanks for the update on Stump.

        Cheers,

        Darryl

    • wade says:

  14. Kim says:
